    • What is group CBT therapy? Group therapy is psychotherapy that involves a therapist working with several people at the same time. Group therapy can integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan that also includes individual therapy and medication. Group therapy can be ongoing and focus on using CBT in multiple areas of the clientís life or can be focused to a particular topic and agenda each week (e.g. 8 week workshop on stress management using CBT, Biofeedback and Yoga Therapy)

    • Who can benefit from group therapy? Group therapy is particularly effective for treating social phobias, depression and maintaining weight loss in addition and other disorders.

      What happens in the group therapy? Groups can be formatted with a semi structured weekly agenda or groups can be more free flowing. Education on new skill sets are introduced, practiced and discussed. Weekly homework is assigned for participants to complete between sessions behavior exposures and clients learn to identify their own irrational thoughts and to dispute/challenge the content of these thoughts.
